The carpet area refers to the space that can be covered by a carpet or the area of an apartment, omitting the thickness of the interior walls. The carpeting area is the most important part of a house. The carpet area should not include the lobby, stairs, play area, or lift, which are all shared common areas. So, when you’re looking for a home, look at the carpet area first because it’s the size that will give you an indication of the actual room you’ll be able to use or move around in. You can understand the available space in the kitchen, bedroom, dining room, and living room by focusing on the carpet area.
